Position Summary:
JAAGO Foundation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Officer to join our Youth Development Program (YDP). The Senior Officer will supervise Senior Youth Coordinators, ensuring the effective implementation of youth programs. She/He will play a crucial role in overseeing the activities of Senior Youth Coordinators & Youth Coordinators and contributing to the overall success of the YDP. This position requires someone passionate about youth empowerment, capable of leading and mentoring a dynamic team, and exhibiting strong leadership and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Management
- Oversee the activities and performance of Senior Youth Coordinators.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure program goals are met.
2. Program Planning and Implementation
- Develop and implement capacity-building workshops and training programs for Youth Coordinators.
- Regularly review project progress and make necessary adjustments to achieve milestones.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
3. Communication and Networking
- Foster collaboration and partnerships with Volunteer for Bangladesh, local university clubs, and other youth organizations.
- Expand the Volunteer for Bangladesh network in schools, colleges, and universities.
- Arrange and coordinate local and national programs and events, engaging with government and non-government stakeholders.
4. Monitoring and Reporting
- Ensure efficient project management procedures are in place for accurate reporting and monitoring.
- Collect and report impact data related to the project, guided by the M&E Manager.
5. Volunteer Logistics Handling
- Oversee volunteer logistics for all events and initiatives, including travel, accommodation, meals, materials, and on-site support.
- Maintain a database of active volunteers and ensure smooth mobilization for various activities.
6. Administrative Tasks
- Manage day-to-day administrative tasks related to youth engagement programs.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of program files, communications, and event reports.
- Support procurement and inventory management for project-related resources.
7. Budgeting and Financial Oversight
- Assist in preparing and reviewing the annual budgeting plan for youth development activities.
- Monitor expenditures against budgets and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Work closely with the Finance Team to ensure compliance with financial policies and reporting standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Language: Proficiency in both Bangla and English.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of professional and volunteer experience working with youth.
Skills and other competencies:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and networking abilities.
- Basic knowledge of office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
